The short version

Your data stays yours. We use it to run your job applications and improve our service. We don't sell it. We never will.

What we collect

Information you give us: Name, email address, resume content, job preferences, salary targets, and any other information you provide during onboarding or account management.

Usage data: How you interact with the Service — which features you use, dispatch counts, application outcomes (where you choose to share them).

Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and standard web server logs. We use this for security and to keep the Service running.

How we use it

We use your data to: generate and submit job applications on your behalf, improve the quality of AI-generated content, provide customer support, send service-related communications (not marketing spam), and detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

What we don't do

We do not sell your data to recruiters, employers, data brokers, or anyone else. We do not use your resume or application content to train third-party AI models without your explicit consent. We do not share your data with third parties except as required by law or to provide the Service (e.g., payment processing).

Data retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time by emailing privacy@shotgunit.com. We'll action it within 30 days.

Third-party services

We use Stripe for payment processing, Vercel for hosting, and Anthropic/OpenAI APIs for AI generation. Each has its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@shotgunit.com.

Changes

We'll notify you of material changes to this policy by email and by posting the updated policy here. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
